The making behind the brand will give you a reason in itself to come to the show. Voglia means wish in Italian and their wish is for a cleaner, healthier, a better world. It starts by cleaning up our oceans, beaches, waterways and saving marine life which I am 100% behind. Their debut collection, Spaced Out, is made from regenerated materials aka illegal fishing nets. Proceeds from all swimwear sales benefit charities that help clean up our oceans.
The designs and styles are named after women who inspire me/us – for instance, we have the Audrey named after the icon herself, Audrey Hepburn, and the Anna named after tennis player, Anna Kournikova – not all designs are named after celebrities; some are our everyday heroes like our mothers, best friends and other women making a difference in their communities.
This summer Voglia will be showcasing their collection at Miami Swim Week and New York Fashion Week (September) – kicking off with a Hot Girl Summer show in the Queen City. Voglia is more than just swimwear, it’s a lifestyle “you can not have a sustainable brand and not live the lifestyle, everything you do must be full circle” – which is why we advocate for more sustainable methods in our everyday habits, introducing consumers to brands that share the same value and educating them on our fashion waste, which is approximately 70 tons a year.
