Disney’s Into the Woods

Disney’s Into the Woods

I think at one point or another in everyone’s life they wish fairylands were real. The charming prince to sweep them off their feet, the fairy godmother to grant them a wish, maybe even an evil witch to cast an everlasting curse on someone of their choosing. Oh, how deviant!

Whatever the fairy-tale of your choosing may be, I suggest if you too wish that fairy tales were real, you take some time out of your busy schedule to see Disney’s Into The Woods this holiday season. I had the pleasure of spending some time with two good friends this weekend and was able to catch the movie with them, and boy did we enjoy it!

Don’t worry, no spoiler alerts will be given, but the musical scoring was not the only amazing aspect of this film. The overall mise en scène of the film was visually stimulating. I honestly felt like I was walking into the woods with the characters experiencing the journey with them. MAGICAL, I know! The film had a great diverse cast as well, with some new and old faces brought together on the big screen! I loved little red riding hood, played by Lilla Crawford, who originally stared as Annie in the Broadway musical. She is not only extremely talented as an actress and singer, but she also brings great humor to her role as Little Red Riding Hood in the film, which was pleasant to watch!

Overall, the film is a great family film, definitely, a must-see for the fairy-tale or musical lover, though it is a bit long so be sure to clear your schedule at a running time of 2 hours and 4 minutes. Just remember…be is careful what you wish for!

With Love,
