’13 Reasons Why’ Netflix’s Newest Show is a Must Watch

My brother and I love us some Netflix Originals. After Making a Murderer, Orange is the New Black and of course Stranger Things, we were both officially hooked on the cinematic genius Netflix so kindly provided us. This now brings me to Netflix’s best newest show, 13 Reasons Why.

Originally a book, this Netflix series tells the rather morbid but addicting tale of a high school student named Hannah and her reasons for committing suicide. To give you a short synopsis, as I don’t want to reveal the entire season, with the combination of 13 former friends, an old cassette tape, and a map; this mystery unfolds and sheds light on the complexities of life itself.

It only took me two days to beige watch the whole series and after finishing I had a different view on not only suicide but each of our separate ways. There are so many contributing factors that shape our lives and this show does allow you to realize that in a whole new life. One of my favorite things about the show was how it expressed the art of coping with the characters and their many conflicting emotions after their friend’s death. It was very interesting to watch each narrative play out and the underlying messages.

As I said, I don’t want to spoil it all, but trust me; regardless of the fact the series is centered around a bunch of high schoolers and may come across as a bit childish at first; if you love a show that echoes diversity and keeps you on edge each episode; you will love this show. P.S. The soundtrack is amazing too.

With Love,

Lex Paige
