Issues: Never Lose Your Flames

Issues: Never Lose Your Flames

Issues is an American metalcore band formed in Atlanta, Georgia that I love and finally got to see play live and interview at this year’s Vans Warped Tour in Charlotte, NC.

*Side Note, this is an attractive ass band. Just saying, if you like a good-looking bunch of guys, you may want to just got see them look at how appealing to the eye they are. *Bless*

The band currently consists of clean vocalist Tyler Carter, unclean vocalist Michael Bohn, bassist Skyler Acord, guitarist AJ Rebollo, and percussionist Josh Manuel. To give you the short and sweet summary, Issues first started touring as a support act with Attila on their ‘Party with the Devil Tour.’ From there, Issues debut EP, Black Diamonds, was released on November 13, 2012, and after touring with bands such as Of Mice & Men, Beartooth, and Sleeping With Sirens, the band released the single “Hooligans” and began recording their self-titled debut album throughout 2013. In 2014, the band released their album Issues on February 18, 2014, and peaking at number 9 in the U.S. and from there they just took off in the music scene.

Most recently, Issues newest album for 2016, Headspace, is killer, to say the least. Their single “Coma” is one of my favorites, with clean vocals, amazing instrumentals, and a catchy hook. This album is memorable and overall one of their best in my opinion thus far. It was awesome to hear them play some of the album’s tracks live at this year’s Vans Warped Tour and after watching the bands set earlier when it came time to interview them I was super hyped and ready to go.

Unfortunately, the whole band didn’t come out to the interview due to some downpour rain we were having, but regardless I loved talking to these guys. I met with Bass player Skyler Acord and Percussionist Josh Manuel (Who is a sexy redhead) and probably made myself look like such an idiot the way I was fangirling at first. (I just love their music so it was expected okay) Anyway, I won’t go into much detail about the interview since you can watch it for yourself, but the band was very real with me on how their sound has changed over the past couple of years and how as a whole they feel they have grown so much as musical artists. It was fantastic being able to just sit down with this amazing band I listen to on repeat almost every other day and just talk to them like a regular friend. They were super down to Earth and made me feel even more connected to their sound.
